In a demanding 24-hour training operation held at the IDF Home Front Command training facility, nearly 90 ZAKA volunteers participated in a high-level simulation aimed at maintaining operational readiness for emergency and mass-casualty scenarios.
Working alongside IDF officer cadets, ZAKA teams carried out sensitive casualty recovery missions in a setting designed to replicate the aftermath of missile barrages and collapsed buildings. Teams rotated in shifts, demonstrating professionalism, resilience, and deep respect for the sacred task of honoring the dead.
“This exercise was not only about operational skill – it was a testament to our volunteers’ dedication and compassion,” said Chaim Otmazgin, Commander of ZAKA’s Special Units. “They showed impressive motivation and earned the respect of every military professional on site.”
Chaim Weingarten, ZAKA’s Director of Operations, added:
“Even during times of calm, we prepare for the unthinkable. These exercises ensure our teams stay sharp, focused, and ready to respond with expertise and heart. Our volunteers never cease to amaze us.”
Whether responding to disasters, terror attacks, or natural catastrophes, ZAKA remains steadfast in its mission: to save lives, honor the dead, and serve with humanity and precision.
