Following three days of intensive efforts to complete the necessary procedures with the authorities in Cyprus, the body of Yaakov Yisrael Yadid, a 35-year-old Jerusalem resident who drowned off the coast of Limassol, will be flown to Israel today.

The deceased’s coffin will be transported on a private aircraft, which is expected to depart Cyprus at 3:00 p.m. and land in Israel at 4:00 p.m. Upon arrival, the coffin will be transferred immediately for the funeral, which is scheduled to take place later today, before the start of Shabbat, at Har HaMenuchot Cemetery in Jerusalem.

“Following three days of intensive efforts by ZAKA’s International Unit and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including a court hearing aimed at preventing an autopsy, and after completing all necessary procedures with the local authorities, the deceased is now making his way to Israel. We have been supporting the family throughout the entire process and are working in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the relevant authorities to enable the funeral to take place today, before the start of Shabbat.
