During an official and emotional visit to ZAKAโs National Headquarters, Minister May Golan, joined by senior members of her staff, met with ZAKA leadership for an overview of the organizationโs life-saving work – both in times of calm and crisis.
One of the most powerful moments came from ZAKA volunteer Natan Kanig, who was among the first responders at the massacre sites in southern Israel:
โIโve been in ZAKA for decades, but what we saw there – nothing can prepare the soul for that.โ
The minister also toured the ZAKA operations center, learned about the Hosen Division supporting the volunteersโ emotional wellbeing, and expressed deep admiration:
โZAKA is the embodiment of mutual responsibility and limitless kindness. Youโre always there – for the living and in honor of the dead.
Your testimonies are a moral obligation, and the world must hear them.โ
ZAKA CEO Dovi Weissenstern added:
โMinister Golan was one of the first to amplify our volunteers’ voices worldwide. Today, hearing them firsthand, closed an important circle.โ
Rabbi Yosef Shvinger, from ZAKAโs board, noted:
โThe ministerโs recognition is a true source of strength for our volunteers.โ
At the end of the visit, ZAKA leadership presented Minister Golan with a special blessing – for success and peace – as a token of gratitude for her unwavering support of the organization and its mission.
