In a meaningful visit to ZAKA’s National Headquarters, Minister of Welfare and Social Affairs Yaakov Margi, accompanied by his advisor Shlomi Gazit, received an in-depth briefing on ZAKA’s ongoing activity – both in routine operations and during emergency situations.
Minister Margi was welcomed by members of ZAKA’s leadership, including Rabbi Rafael Manat, Rabbi Yosef Shvinger, Chief Operating Officer Chaim Weingarten, Finance Director Lior Gabay, and Head of Public Affairs Moti Bukchin.
The minister toured ZAKA’s command center, learned about its various emergency units, and heard about the essential work of the Hosen Division, which provides psychological support to volunteers who have witnessed horrific scenes – especially in the aftermath of the October 7th terror attack.
“ZAKA’s devotion to saving lives and honoring the dead is awe-inspiring,” said Minister Margi. “This kind of mission obligates all of us to stand behind the organization and offer every form of support.”
Rabbi Rafael Manat emphasized the value of the visit:
“We see great importance in a direct connection with the Ministry of Welfare – especially with a minister who brings both sensitivity and deep understanding of ZAKA’s unique mission and the emotional needs of our volunteers.”
Rabbi Yosef Shvinger added:
“This visit is a meaningful boost for our thousands of volunteers. Since October 7th, ZAKA has invested tremendous resources in supporting those who experienced unimaginable trauma. The minister’s presence and engagement give us strength.”
