In the early hours of Tuesday morning, ZAKA’s emergency hotline 1220 received a report of a direct rocket strike on a residential building in Be’er Sheva, causing severe destruction. Emergency teams arrived quickly and worked under dangerous conditions. Several fatalities have been confirmed, along with multiple serious injuries.

ZAKA Negev District volunteers are operating at the site under fire, alongside Magen David Adom, Fire and Rescue Services, and the IDF Home Front Command. The teams are engaged in locating and identifying victims, collecting remains, and carrying out their sacred mission of honoring the dead.

Shimon Zaguri, ZAKA Be’er Sheva Commander, reported from the scene:

“This is a heartbreaking and overwhelming event. When we arrived, we witnessed devastating destruction – some of the victims were found beneath the rubble. ZAKA volunteers are carrying out their duties with devotion, ensuring the deceased are treated with the utmost respect and dignity.”

Operation “Like a Lion” (Am K’lavi) continues to reinforce ZAKA’s national emergency response capabilities during times of crisis.
