Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited today the scene of the severe tragedy in Beit Shemesh, where he received a professional briefing from ZAKA CEO and ZAKA Beit Shemesh Commander Avremi Kapp regarding the organization’s operations at the complex site.
The Prime Minister was updated on the recovery efforts, the meticulous collection of findings, and the extensive measures taken to ensure the dignity of the deceased and provide support to the affected families.
Accompanying the Prime Minister were Beit Shemesh Mayor Shmuel Greenberg and Home Front Command Chief Maj. Gen. Shay Klepper, who observed firsthand the close coordination among all emergency and rescue forces operating at the scene.
Prime Minister Netanyahu praised ZAKA volunteers, stating:
“I want to strengthen the hands of the ZAKA volunteers who are operating here with extraordinary dedication during these most difficult hours, to provide final honor to the victims and assist their families. This is truly sacred work, carried out quietly, humbly, and professionally. The entire nation of Israel salutes you. I urge the public to follow the instructions of the Home Front Command. They save lives.”
ZAKA CEO thanked the Prime Minister for coming to the scene to witness the situation firsthand and for offering encouragement to the volunteers. He noted that ZAKA volunteers from all districts remain on full alert and continue to operate in close cooperation with the Home Front Command, Israel Police, and all emergency agencies, maintaining full readiness for any scenario.
Beit Shemesh Mayor Shmuel Greenberg added:
“ZAKA volunteers are an integral part of the city’s emergency response system. Once again, we saw you operating with sensitivity, professionalism, and endless dedication during the most difficult hours for our residents. On behalf of the people of Beit Shemesh, thank you for your sacred work and for the dignity you provide to the deceased and their families.”
Earlier, Beit Shemesh Police Station Commander Supt. Eldad Peretz also arrived at the scene and commended the close cooperation between ZAKA and all security and rescue forces who operated together for many long hours.
