This evening, at ZAKA’s national logistics center, a new humanitarian truck was inaugurated in memory of Mr. Shlomo Adolfo Pizzuto z”l, a man known for his kindness and charitable deeds, who passed away this past Adar. The truck was generously donated by the Pizzuto family as a lasting tribute to their beloved father.
The dedication ceremony was attended by ZAKA CEO Dovi Weisenstern, Operations Director Chaim Weingarten, ZAKA Board Member Kobi Ginzburg, Southern Command Officer Yossi Landau, heads of ZAKA’s logistics department, volunteers, and members of the Pizzuto family.
The new truck was custom-designed to meet the needs of ZAKA volunteers. It will transport equipment to mourning families, deliver essential logistical tools such as lighting systems between ZAKA branches, and serve as part of ZAKA’s readiness for mass-casualty incidents.
ZAKA CEO Dovi Weisenstern said:
“The most meaningful tribute to Mr. Shlomo Adolfo Pizzuto z”l is this truck, which will carry equipment to disaster scenes and mourning families, ensuring the dignity of the deceased.”
ZAKA Operations Director, Chaim Weingarten, noted:
“Just last month, during Operation ‘Like a Lion’ (Am K’lavi), this truck already transported vital supplies under rocket fire.”
A representative of the Pizzuto family said:
“Our father wanted to leave a legacy of kindness. Supporting ZAKA, which upholds life and human dignity, is the most fitting way to honor him.”
Reuven Reuven, Head of ZAKA’s Logistics Division, added:
“This truck will allow us to respond effectively at disaster sites and continue acts of compassion that strengthen the people of Israel.”
At the close of the event, Yossi Landau, ZAKA Lachish District Commander, shared with the family about the Daf Yomi class established after October 7th, with hundreds of volunteers participating daily. One of the family members pledged to donate volumes of the next tractate for the study group.
