During the peak of summer, a season marked by numerous drowning incidents, ZAKA’s Diving Unit conducted a life-saving water rescue drill.
This past weekend, ZAKA’s Diving Unit carried out an exercise simulating the search for a missing person in murky waters using specialized scanning techniques. Once the “missing person” was located deep underwater, the team practiced an evacuation using ZAKA’s jet ski while performing resuscitation procedures on shore.
Chaim Otmazgin, Commander of ZAKA’s Special Units, said:
“What works in training, works in emergencies. During the summer vacation, we were called to several tragic water incidents. Our volunteer divers are committed to maintaining full operational readiness for any type of water scenario. We train year-round to preserve our high level of skill and preparedness”
