An Opportunity for Kindness every day.

Since COVID-19 began, ZAKA has responded to over 100 cases of the elderly dying alone in their homes undetected. Today we say NO MORE – by checking in on the elderly every day.

ZAKA is on call 24/7 to answer every emergency. While this is an amazing act of chessed (kindness) on its own – it’s actually not the Chessed ZAKA is most famous for. Every ZAKA volunteer is fully committed to ensuring that, in the event that someone cannot be saved, that their body is treated with the utmost respect and ensures they have a proper burial. This is considered the most sincere act of kindness – since the deceased can never repay this act of kindness.

ZAKA is fully committed to this important mission. But after the many horrific scenes of the elderly left unattended and the many undetected deaths, it is clear that something needs to change. That’s why ZAKA has begun this special project – to make sure that the elderly are cared for. By checking in every day, we can save their lives – and not G-d forbid left alone to die.
