Jeep Unit

Within the framework of search and rescue operations, ZAKA quickly discovered the need to reach places that are inaccessible with ordinary vehicles.  In 2009, the ZAKA Jeep Unit was founded. Dozens of volunteers who own 4X4 vehicles have joined the unit, assisting in the searches for missing persons in forests, deserts and other inaccessible terrain. The unit also helps with transportation of diving equipment and boats to the seashore when needed. Over the course of the year, the volunteers assist with dozens of search and rescue missions. The unit also has many other ATVs (all-terrain vehicles), which are used to access difficult terrain.

In addition, the unit is renowned for its assistance in bringing joy to disadvantaged and disabled children, taking them out on an annual Chanukah fun day out in cooperation with other volunteer organizations.
